Welcome to another week, and another edition of Words of Wisdom with Delores Banks-Butler. Delores’ original poetry is inspired by her love of her family and community in Louisville’s West End, as well as her strong Christian faith.

  Here I am a Traveling 

Down a long and tedious road

Not knowing where I’m going

But I am not alone

For there is someone by my side

Who will always be my guide

Shush– I hear someone quietly walking

Shush–A still small voice talking

Oh could it be 

Don’t you see

It is the Greatest Love of All

Who has heard my beckon call

I feel a powerful force drawing me

Bringing me closer to my destiny

In view is reality

It is He– the Powerful God

Reaching out to rescue me

Yes it is He

Delores was just featured by Russell Place of Promise here! Delores Butler (Vice President) is a proud Russell Community resident. She realizes the importance of a healthy food store in our West End neighborhoods. She is presently working to achieve knowledge and awareness in our community for the need for healthy eating and nutrition for our neighborhoods. She believes knowledge is power- and we all need one another to accomplish the goal for the people who live in our West End communities.
